Accident probe continues

Police are this evening continuing investigations in an accident which occurred earlier today in Ruby, St Philip.
A release from the Royal Barbados Police Force stated that five people were in the hired car involved in the accident, which claimed two lives.
Keisha Mason, 29, of Sargeant Village, Christ Church and Jason Burke, 31, of Train Road, Marchfield, St Philip, died in the accident.
The car was driven by Stephen Chase, 25 years of Rock Hall, St Philip.
According to police, the others in the car were Shelly Bourne, 30, of Clapham, Christ Church. She complained of pains to the back and neck and lacerations about her body; and Lisa Brathwaite, 33, of Black Rock, St. Michael, who complained of lacerations and pains about her body.
Passengers in the minibus were Richard Alleyne of Lowthers, St Patricks, who complained of pains to the neck and Karen Thompson of Foursquare, St Philip, who complained of pains to the feet.
The minibus was driven by Henford Jones, 59, of Sargeant Village, Christ Church.
Inspector David Welch said: “Initial investigations revealed that the minibus was travelling to Bayfield and the motor car from the direction of Long Bay when they collided on the Ruby Road.”
Personnel of the Barbados Fire Service were on the scene and assisted. (PR)
