Caring ‘Nat’

Football administrator Sherlock “Nat” Yarde was not only remembered yesterday as the best friend a human being could have, but as the people’s minister of social care and poverty alleviation.
Yarde, a former senior national football manager, and one of the founding members of FAS Entertainment, was laid to rest at the Westbury Cemetery after an emotional service at the Gym of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex yesterday morning.
In his moving 45-minute sermon, his brother Pastor Nigel Yarde said that because of Sherlock’s giving personality, he had become a “Sir”, knighted by the people with whom he had forged friendships.
The service was also highlighted by musical tributes from former calypso monarch Edwin Yearwood and renowned entertainer Richard Stoute. (BA)
