No mystery about letters

There was nothing mysterious about two letters which the Ministry of Education never received concerning head of Alexandra School’s science department, Amaida Greaves.
This was put to Chief Education Officer Laurie King yesterday by attorney Cecil McCarthy, one of two Queen’s Counsel representing the man at the centre of the Alexandra School industrial dispute, Jeff Broomes.
A day after King admitted having only seen the letters concerning Greaves on January 9, 2012 – six months after being written by Broomes – McCarthy pointed out to the Commission of Inquiry that at a meeting of the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU) and the Ministry of Education on December 30, 2011, BSTU consultant Patrick Frost referred to the letter written to Greaves by Broomes on May 24, 2011.
King also admitted that at that December 20 meeting, Frost had indeed referred to the principal’s letter to Greaves.
King further said he did not ask for a copy.
