Lawyer: Life term too heavy

SELF-CONFESSED KILLER Charles Matthew O’Brian Frederick had no intention of killing Arthur Chaderton and his son-in-law even though he was carrying a gun when he broke into their house.
As a result, said Marlon Gordon, life in prison for the double-killer was too harsh and he really should be sentenced to between 14 and 16 years.
“Frederick had accepted he has done wrong and he has said he is sorry but he is asking the court for a chance to live,” Gordon said.
The attorney was responding to suggestions by Director of Public Prosecutions Charles Leacock, QC, that Frederick should be jailed for life for his two crimes.
