GG gives nod to scouts camp

GOVERNOR GENERAL SIR ELLIOTT BELGRAVE has given the thumbs up to the Barbados Boy Scouts Association’s National Centenary Camp.
During a tour of the campsite, located on the field of the association’s Lower Collymore Rock, St Michael headquarters, Sir Elliott, who is also Chief Scout and recently appointed president, interacted with scouts and their leaders as he toured their tents and viewed purpose-built items for the camp.
He even witnessed the baking of a chocolate cake in a Dutch oven, expressing great interest  in the activity.
“I am impressed. I have never visited a camp like this before. It was indeed an interesting experience. It is an interesting way to keep the youngsters out of trouble. The scouts and their leaders are doing a good job,” the Governor General told the DAILY NATION.
