CHELSEA TUACH continues to prove she is among surfing’s elite.
The national open women’s champ is just one of a handful of wave riders chosen from this region to attend another high-performance Red Bull Future Surf Camp in San Clemente, California this week.
Conducted by former professional surfers and world class coaches Sean Hayes, Shane Beshen and Andy Walsh, the camp is for top young surfers that have been identified as the sport’s future stars.
The four-day camp is designed to push the surfers’ performance to the next level through intense practice of the most progressive manoeuvres in surfing, video analysis of technique, and the exposure to the life of a professional surfer.
“I am really happy and honoured to have been selected for this prestigious camp,” said Tuach.
“I learnt so much from the last one I attended in Peru in 2010 and I am looking forward to pushing my surfing to the next level.
“I have a number of contests coming up in the next six months and this camp is going to help me perform to the best of my ability.
Rated the 11th best female junior in the world, the teenaged Tuach just recently captured her third successive double of the Under-18 girls’ and Open titles in as many tournaments.
She is slated to leave the country for the United States tomorrow. (JM/PR)
