Weapons, drugs seized at illegal fete

Police seized illegal drugs, a number of scissors and a gun at a fete in Lammings, St Joseph early this morning.
A release from the Police today stated that they responded to reports of loud music at a place called Airy Hill Jackers Base in the area.
“Investigations revealed that no licence was obtained to hold the fete neither was the premises licensed as a place of public entertainment. Police seized a quantity of illegal drugs and a number of scissors found on the inside and a .22 revolver found on the outside of the premises,” stated the release.
According to the release, owner of the premises Jefferson Alphonso Kellman, 57, of Lammings St Joseph, was arrested and charged for permitting the premises to be used for the misuse of illegal drugs.
Organiser of the fete, Andre Carlisle Walkes, 27, of St Bernard Village, St Joseph, was charged for Exposing liquor for sale without a valid license. (CM/PR)
