Sir Branford honoured

SIR Branford Taitt, hailed as the “Father of Manufacturing” has been honoured for his sterling contribution to the industry.
Surrounded yesterday afternoon by his family and friends at his Rock Dundo, St Michael home, an emotional Sir Branford, said it was a “magnificent pleasure” to be recognised by the Barbados Manufacturers Association (BMA).
Before an audience that included his wife, Lady Colleen, Minister of Industry Denis Kellman, executive director Bobby McKay, the former Minister of Trade in the Errol Barrow-led Government from 1971-76, was presented with a vase by BMA?president David Foster.
“To be chosen like you have chosen me is so special and so different. It reminds me of the day I got married.
“I think this honour will go down in history as the most special honour given to anyone. It is great that manufacturers in Barbados has recognised me as the father of manufacturing,” he said. (MK)
