There will be no promotion of 15 police officers until a court case is decided.
Yesterday, in a weekend sitting of the High Court, Justice Elneth Kentish granted an injunction blocking the elevation of 15 police officers. The proposed promotions have developed into a controversial issue in the past several days.
Justice Kentish granted an interim injunction preventing the Commissioner of Police (COP) Darwin Dottin from announcing any further promotions until after the court case that resumes on Tuesday.
The latest development follows an application by the 15 police officers who have been challenging their omission from a previous list of promotions submitted by the COP. (TS)
