Mikey giving thanks

REIGNING MONARCH MIKEY says that at the end of the day he and Li’l Rick are friends.
“Everybody goes to win,” he pointed out yesterday.
“I don’t think he bears any ill will to anyone. He called me at the end of the day [Sunday] to congratulate me. He told me don’t listen to the talk.”
That talk would have been centred on Li’l Rick’s walking off the stage after Mikey was announced the winner of the Party Monarch competition at Sunday’s big showdown Soca Royale at Bushy Park, St Philip. Mikey was also crowned Sweet Soca champ.
