Families’ day out

SPENDING THE DAY at the beach or in a park is a normal activity for Barbadians on a public holiday and Emancipation Day yesterday was no different.
Bajans flocked to the popular spots such as King George V Memorial Park, St Philip, and Accra Beach, Christ Church, causing no end of parking headaches for motorists in both locales.
At Accra, people were swimming in the sea or chatting on the beach. Some were braiding hair, others were buying food and still others were simply soaking up sun.
A group and friends and family had gathered in celebration of the birthday of one of their own in Kimmesha Howell.
They came from St Philip and St Michael, so Christ Church was a reasonable meeting point, not to mention easy access to places like Chefette and its play park.
