Tropical Storm Ernesto passed about 30 miles to the north of Barbados about 1:30 a.m without much fanfare.
However model analysis suggests that deep pools of low to mid-level moisture remain east of the system, which means more showers and flash flooding are likely during the next 12 to 24 hours. It may also become necessary to issue a flash-flood warning during the course of the day.
Meanwhile the center of Tropical Storm Ernesto was located near latitude 13.5 north, longitude 60.7 west or about 30 miles south-east of St Lucia, and 60km east north-east of St Vincent.
Ernesto is moving toward the west at 24 mph, 39 km/hr and this general motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days with a gradual decease in forward speed.
Maximum sustained winds are now near 45 mph… 75 km/hour. (SH-O/PR)
