Red Plastic Bag had many reasons to celebrate in the wee hours of today, mainly winning his tenth title and reaching his 30th anniversary in the artform that has made him a household name across the Caribbean and beyond.
Rendering Thank You Calypso, he introduced it with video footage of his three decades of performances, starting with the 1982 classic Mr Harding; and followed later in the night with Royal Visit, in which he encouraged Queen Elizabeth II to come to Barbados and witness its negatives instead of its well-decorated areas.
Bag beat into second place Ian Webster followed by Gabby, Adrian Clarke and dethroned king Popsicle.
The other places were not announced before a packed Gymnasium, where the show was shifted Thursday because of inclement weather.
