After weeks of anticipaton and adrenaline rush, Grenada’s Kirani James created history at the 2012 London Olympics.
The 19-year-old 400m star, known as the “Jaguar” had Grenadians at a stand still as he took his position at the starter’s point all the way through to the finish line.
In a time of 43.94 seconds(the best in Caribbean history) he became Grenada’s first Olymic gold medalist and the fastest 400m runner in the world.
In a post race interview, James said he was happy that he was able to maintain his focus and bring home the medal that so many Grenadians waited for, for so long.
