Yesterday at 4:15 p.m. Broad Street, The City, came to a standstill as hundreds of Barbadians gathered in front of the large screen on the Republic Bank to watch the 110 metres finals at the London Olympics.
They all had high hopes that Ryan Brathwaithe would bring another Olympic medal back to Barbados.
However, just over 13 seconds later, those hopes were dashed when Brathwaithe crossed the line in 5th position. However, many onlookers were overheard saying “regardless of his position he had done well”. (DB)
