The Barbados Meteorological Services is monitoring an area of low  pressure over the mid- Atlantic, that could develop into a Tropical Depression by tomorrow.
It is centered near 14°N  42°W or about 1250 miles or 2000km to the east-north east of Barbados.
The system is presently moving towards the west at about 17mph or 27kmh and on its present track is  expected to be in the vicinity of Barbados and the Lesser Antilles late tomorrow, early tomorrow.
Model analysis indicates that there is a very strong possibility that this system could become  a Tropical Depression within the next 24 to 36 hours.
Local Met officials said that regardless of development, the system is likely to bring significant rainfall to Barbados during its passage.
Officials will continue to monitor the development of this system and will be issuing  further statements on its progress over the next few days.
