A?British Conservative MP has denounced his government’s controversial Air Passenger Duty (APD) and is calling for its review.
Mark Pritchard, Conservative MP for The Wrekin since 2005, said the APD?was not equitable and pledged his support to the Barbados Government which has been lobbying the House of Commons for a “fairer way for it to be applied”.
Pritchard declared his support at a Press conference yesterday at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre before a panel that comprised Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy and Caribbean Tourism Organization secretary general Hugh Riley.
“I think that the Air Passenger Duty as it currently stands is not equitable, is not a level playing field and is something that I personally think should be reviewed,” he said. (MK)
