The Nation’s Online Editor Carol Martindale looks at What’s Trending in Barbados today.
The National Organization of Women (NOW) has cried shame on the photograph showing a young boy gyrating on a female reveler on the road for Kadooment Day.
This story has been trending for the last couple days since the picture was published in the SATURDAY SUN. The Child Care Board has already stated that it would be forwarding the picture to the police. NOW’s President Marilyn Rice-Bowen said her organization stands in solidarity with the Board.
This is what readers are saying today.
Tania Whitby-Best: “Good. That’s right, the culprits should face charges. …that’s child abuse.”
Kathie Daniel: “But what does the actual law say?”
Ryan Smith: “…Anyone who touches a child inappropriately is child abuse.”
