Every painting tells a story

ANYONE dining at The Tides Restaurant is compelled to view the collection of paintings hanging from the walls of The Tides Art Gallery.
With featured artists from Barbados, South America and the Caribbean the many art forms are sure to mesmerize even the less enthused lover of art.
From the oils on canvas, to “clay form” delights, embellished giclee prints on canvas, mixed media, etchings and mosaic pieces, the numerous paintings on display will not only catch your eye, but make choosing one a hard task.
Gallery owner Tammie Beasley has worked hand in hand with artists to showcase a wide variety of art forms, all of course, telling various stories. They are those depicting children; the aged, nature at its best; sceneries, love, characters, the undersea world and of course, aspects of Caribbean life – to name a few.
Among the artists displaying their works are Jozza, Sue Trew, Joarez, Vito Loli, Angie Tewersham, Franco Beli, Terrence Piggott, Sue Trew, Melanie Blomgren, Tadeo, Maggie Bell, Susan Holder, Boscoe Holder, Kirsten Dear, Jonathan Guy Gladding, Hilary Armstrong and others.
The paintings vary from small hand-held finishes to much larger hangings which can easily become centre pieces in any home.
Among those sure to capture your attention will be Peeling Fruit by Kirsten Dear – an oil on canvas painting; Lankanplish by Jonathan Guy Gladding; Under Umbrella by Hilary Armstrong; Rasta Girl by Maggie Bell,  Funny Jar by Jozza, Barbadian Girl by Sue Trew, Turtle Reflection by Kovsky Cox and Woman With The Red Head Tie, a print by Boscoe Holder.
Of course, there are lots more just awaiting your visit. (CH)
