AFTER TREATING a packed Frank Collymore Hall to a thrilling performance last week, the Good-Will Military Band from the People’s Republic of China got down to socializing with a select group of patrons at an intimate afterparty.
Diplomats invited to the free public event as well as Barbados Defence Force personnel who were hosts to the visiting band, mingled with guests like Central Bank Governor Dr Delisle Worrell, sipping cocktails and nibbling on delicious Bajan bites.
The 20 Chinese musicians from The Military Band of the People’s Republic of China had just given a performance that left the audience screaming for “more”,  after conductor Zhang Hai Feng had worked his way into the hearts of the crowd with his amusing onstage antics, and his stated love for Barbados and its music.
The free concert featured the Chinese military band as well as the bands of the Royal Barbados Police Force, the Barbados Defence Force and the Barbados Cadet Corps.
