Fraud up!

The Customs & Excise Department continues to see a substantial increase in the submission of fraudulent documents, sometimes as often as twice a week.
Acting Comptroller of Customs Frank Holder said so during a service yesterday at St Stephen’s Anglican Church to celebrate the 107th anniversary of the establishment of the department.
He warned that if the trend continued, “then we will reach a crisis level and will have to implement new strategies to combat such fraud”.
While Holder did not elaborate on the situation, he noted three initiatives that the department was seeking to implement in the near future. (CAT)
