Two arrested on drug charges

Two Barbadian nationals were arrested at the airport for drug offences by the  Barbados Drug Squad.
Adrainna Shakeira Pompey, a 19-year-old hairdresser of McClean Road, silver Sands, Christ Church arrived by air about 1:45 p.m on Sunday September 2, 2012, and was stopped and interviewed by police and customs officials. A search revealed three packages of cannabis in sealed transparent bags concealed in a false compartment in one of her bags.
Shawn Sheldon arrived by air about 5:49 p.m and was detained by police and customs officials. A search revealed two packages of cannabis in sealed transparent bags which was in a blue suit bag he was carrying.
They were both charged separately with the offences of possession; possession with intent to supply, trafficking, and importation of cannabis.
Both Sheldon and Pompey appeared in District B Magistrate Court today. (PR)
