Nearly two dozen temporary nurses at the Psychiatric Hospital have not been paid for three months.
Acting deputy general secretary of the National Union of the Public Workers (NUPW), Roslyn Smith, told the MIDWEEK NATION that it was distressing that so many nurses were being disadvantaged at such a tough time.
“The strange thing is that the new temps that have been brought on have been paid while the regular temporary nurses are still waiting for their wages,” she said.
Smith said she was unsure whether non-payment was due to finance issues or tardiness in the bureaucratic system.
