Strike action appears to be threatening at the Alma Parris School at the start of the new school year on Monday.
Public relations officer of the Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT), Everton Briggs, described the situation at the Speightstown, St Peter school as “untenable”.
“Most of the teachers there are very frustrated and a lot of them are of the opinion that they won’t turn up for work on Monday because the timetables are not ready.
“Most teachers received timetables with ‘draft’ on them . . . . As it stands right now, people are having ten and 12 off lessons,” Briggs explained.
