William Dixon, retired dean of the St Michael Cathedral, is calling for the St Leonard’s Boys’ Secondary School to get a sixth form.
He made this call as he delivered the address at a church service at the St Leonard’s Anglican Church, Westbury Road, St Michael, to mark the end of the school’s 60th anniversary celebrations.
Dixon recalled that when he preached at the school’s 50th anniversary church service ten years ago he had called for the introduction of a sixth form and yesterday expressed the view that the time had come for the school which had made its mark in society over the years to receive the honour.
Last April, during the official opening of the school’s 1 000-seat auditorium, principal Joseph King announced that he was committed to the school getting a sixth form. (AH)
