THE BRISTOL RANGERS CLUB is celebrating 50 years of social service and community work.
The club was founded on September 22, 1962 by a group of young men including Clevedon Mayers, Dennis Stroude, Nigel Nicholls and John Campbell.
They had seen the need to establish a netball club that would provide a positive form of recreation for young ladies.
The club started its anniversary celebrations with a service at the St Augustine Anglican Church. (AH)
