Scholarship winners and other students heading off to Britain to study were the toast of the party hosted in their honour by British High Commissioner Paul Brummell and his wife at their Pine Hill residence last week.
It was an evening when some of the region’s brightest minds came together to hear from others who had already gone through the British study experience.
The spotlight was on Chevening Scholars, winners of the prestigious British scholarship awarded to young people around the world who show leadership potential. The award enables scholars to study postgraduate courses at higher education institutions across Britain.
Winners from the Caribbean this year were Barbadian Jovan Reid, Kenrod Roberts from St Kitts-Nevis, Karina Johnson from Grenada, and Devon Fadlin from St Lucia.
High Commissioner Brummell and Minister of Family, Culture, Sports and Youth Stephen Lashley both gave words of encouragement to the scholars.
