LIME Sports Club have honoured six of their long-standing servants.
The Wildey club paused on Friday night to show appreciation to stalwarts who have contributed more than a combined 200 years.
Former Barbados captain and West Indies wicketkeeper Courtney Browne, Brian Johnson, Ron Bates, Gordon Maxwell, Anthony Morris and Ashley Nurse were applauded and rewarded for their cricketing accomplishments and selfless devotion to LIME over a 25 year span.
Nurse, who had earned a call up to the West Indies Twenty20 team enjoyed a stellar 2012, capturing the most wickets and scoring the most runs in Division One to lead his team back to the Elite Division for 2013.
The all-rounder capped the season with a match winning five-wicket haul against the Barbados Youth a few hours after returning from Trinidad with the national team.
With an audience of a host of club supporters and members, tributes were also paid to the coaching and management staff of LIME who in addition to the Division One crown, captured the Masters title this year for the third consecutive year. (KB)
