Women don’t only care about money

Dear Christine,
This is not a letter where I have a problem and want advice. On the contrary, I would like to use your column to give some timely advice to men.
I have been married for some time but I am thinking about leaving. It’s not because I want to, but because I have to.
He thinks that being a good breadwinner is all a woman wants. Little does he know it’s the little things that count and not always the money.
He does not know how to treat a woman nicely or about paying compliments, such as “You look really nice today”, “the meal was great”, or “the house is well kept”.
Don’t ask about those three little words, “I love you.” He has long forgotten how to say them, or so it seems. A hug or a kiss outside of sexual intercourse is never in the offing.
When it comes to being in bed, all he does is get on and off.  Foreplay is not his thing, and if he tries, it’s “hit and miss”.
When he’s through he goes off to sleep and snores like he is snoring for the entire world. There is no lovemaking and I am left to wonder what’s so wrong with me.
What men need to know Christine is that some women love being made love to, and not being treated like a “hen and rooster”. A little care now and then means a lot to a woman.
Please publish this letter for those “only sex” men to see – men who only care about their satisfaction.

Dear DA,
Your letter is timely, in that quite a few women have written in the past several weeks about the treatment being meted out to them by their husbands and so-called partners.
You have therefore spoken on the behalf of such women.
I hope that men who are guilty will take note and improve their relationship with their spouses. Many relationships end up on the rocks because of thoughtlessness or selfishness.
This is sometimes sad because most of the time when a man gets interested in a woman, he makes himself pleasing to her. Then once he has won, he thinks that all the wooing is no longer necessary.
A wise man knows that his woman’s happiness will be incomplete as long as he neglects the small tokens of love, which after all, cost so little in relation to what he gets.
