The Committee of Privileges of Parliament will convene a special meeting this week to investigate an alleged confrontation between St Joseph MP Dale Marshall and Dr David Estwick, MP for St Philip West.
Yesterday, Clerk of Parliament Pedro Eastmond confirmed to the SUNDAY SUN that a letter had been dispatched to all sitting MPs in the House of Assembly inviting them to step forward and shed any light on what actually occurred near the steps of Parliament on the night of March 19, 2010.
The letter, sent on behalf of Speaker Michael Carrington, informed MPs that the committee was interested in hearing their side of the story.
“The committee will meet on Monday to confirm the procedure and then on Wednesday to start its investigation of the alleged breach of privilege [as levelled by Marshall],” Eastmond explained. (BA)
