Meeting on new housing project

Prospective house owners and neighbours of Barbados’ newest housing project will get a chance to air their views this weekend, before work is launched on the West Terrace Gardens/Durants Village Development Project.
The project, which will provide 72 houses to mostly middle-income Barbadians, will also see new roads being constructed, in addition to a sewage plant in the St James community.
Member of Parliament for the area, Donville Inniss, told the WEEKEND NATION yesterday that it was imperative to know how people felt before a major project like this one could be started.
“We want to know how people feel about the fact work will soon be done on a daily basis. This is important because you shouldn’t just come into people’s backyard and start moving things or making lots of noise,” Inniss said. (BA)
