IF THE Fair Trading Commission (FTC) gets its way, the Barbados Light & Power Company Limited (BL&P) will face penalties to ensure the efficiency of its plant.
And that could translate into reductions in householders’ monthly light bills. The indication is that it could also protect Barbadians from significant spikes in their bills when fuel increases occur.
All this comes out of a consultation paper commissioned by the FTC to review the method of application of the Fuel Clause Adjustment (FCA) administered by the BL&P.
According to an ad in yesterday’s DAILY NATION, the FTC is inviting feedback on the paper from yesterday until November 16. (SP)
