St Andrew striker Raymond Hope has bagged the first beaver trick of this season’s David Thompson Memorial Constituency Councils’ Classic Football Tournament.
Hope’s efforts helped St Andrew to a 6-2 rout of St George South at Speightstown on Wednesday.
Jomo Harewood added a brace, with his two first-half strikes sandwiching Hope’s first goal in the 17th minute as St Andrew opened up a comfortable 3-0 cushion at the half.
But St George South rallied behind a pair of Damien Gollop goals – the last of which came in the 82nd to pull them within one minutes before the end of regulation.
Hope put an end to that threat, though, scoring in the 87th and 89th before adding another for good measure two minutes into stoppage time.
In the nightcap, home side St Peter were held to a 1-1 draw by St James North after Kareem Frederick and Antonio Lavine traded solo strikes.
At Deacons, Ricardo Carter, Terry Odle and Akeem Browne each scored to lead hosts St Michael North West to a comfortable 3-1 victory over neighbours St Michael North.
Jamar Grazette pulled one back in the 66th to reduce the deficit to 2-1 before Browne sealed the deal in the 76th. (JM)
