BUT waiting

THE BARBADOS UNION of Teachers (BUT) does not appear to have any issues with Alexandra School principal Jeff Broomes.
In an interview yesterday, new president Pedro Shepherd said the BUT was simply in a wait-and-see mode.
“We have members there, and we have met with them and they have reported they are relatively comfortable at Alexandra. So we are awaiting the commission’s report and if we have to comment on it, we will,” Shepherd said.
He added that the BUT had kept out of the dispute between Broomes and the Barbados Secondary Teachers Union (BSTU) as it had no place stepping in, especially as, in addition to its members not having any major issues, it was not invited. (CA)
