A 19-year-old St James teenager was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prisons at Dodds today, after appearing in the Holetown Magistrates Court on a charge relating to the death of another man last Monday night.
Ricardo Jamal Stephenson of Denny Road, Thorpes, St James was remanded by Magistrate Barbara Cooke-Alleyne after being arraigned on a charge of wounding with intent to do serious bodily harm.
The charge stems from the death Monday night of Christopher Nedd, in Haynesville, St James.
Nedd, 24, of Block 21D, Haynesville, died Monday night after being reportedly stabbed numerous times. Family members had tried to save his life by placing towels to a stab wound in the neck area, but Nedd did not survive the injuries.
Stephenson appeared in court, accompanied by his attorney-at-law, Keith Simmons. He was remanded until November 22.
The charge of wounding could be upgraded to murder, depending on the results of an autopsy to be performed on Nedd’s body in the coming days. (BA)
