JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT the flames from Phoenix Toyota UFO Firehouse couldn’t get any hotter, the favourites left Kensington Oval ablaze last Sunday night as they put on a clinical display in defeating TS Strikers 4-1 in the LIME Pelican Football Challenge.
The win ensured that Firehouse finished top of Zone B, ahead of Nulook 360 Connection on goal difference after they downed DirecTV Red Snappers 5-2.
Tech4Less Scotty’s Combined All Stars twice came from behind to edge past Sportstown Galaxy 3-2 and round out the top three. TS Strikers joined them in the quarter-finals.
With both teams having already secured qualification, a victory for either Firehouse or TS Strikers would have assured them the coveted top spot in the group.
