One of Barbados’ oldest buildings is about to become one of its newest Magistrates’ Courts.
The Saturday Sun has been reliably informed that one of the main buildings at the former Glendairy Prisons,?Station?Hill,?St Michael,  is being refurbished, and will soon be the temporary home of the District “A” Magistrates’ Court No.1.
It will be the second time a building at the more than 150-year-old former prison will be used as a courthouse.
“It’s going to happen for sure. The work on the prison building is almost finished,” a Government source said. “The refurbishment at Glendairy should be done in a few weeks, and after a site visit by officials, personnel will be able start working there.”
