LIME cut off Maple

LIME disconnected defending champions CGI Maple from the Sagicor General Twenty20 competition with an easy 37-run victory in the final preliminary round of matches yesterday.
It was Maple’s third consecutive defeat and fifth overall as they failed to reach the quarter-final stage, unlike LIME who made it to the last eight.
Chasing 159, Maple were limited to 121 for six. All-rounder Jamar Griffith cracked a robust 54, at better than a run-ball, spiced with three fours and two sixes before he was caught in the deep in the final over.
Shane Ramsay was caught off Kelvin Patterson without scoring in the first over.
Patterson (2-28), later removed Renaldo Parris for 13 in a threatening partnership of 41 with Griffith for the fourth wicket.
Earlier, sent in, LIME amassed 158 for eight, with 42 runs coming in the last three overs. Ryan Nurse hit an unbeaten 28 and Patterson 26, with two fours and two sixes from 13 deliveries. They shared an attacking eighth wicket stand of 48 in 30 balls.  
The inform Justin Brathwaite made 20, including 13 runs in the first over. He was eventually well caught by Griffith running in from long-on.
Courtney Browne counted three fours and a six in a 20-ball knock of 28. Don O’neal claimed three for 18.
