The?ministries of Transport and Health have been lambasted for their no-show at two major events yesterday marking the World Day Of Remembrance For Traffic Victims.
President of the Road Safety Association, Sharmaine Roland-Bowen, slammed both ministries for missing a morning church service at the New Testament Church Of God on River Road and the evening Tree Of Remembrance planting ceremony at Queen’s Park.
Roland-Bowen said invitations were extended to Minister of Transport John Boyce and Minister of Health Donville Inniss and she was “bitterly disappointed” that both men failed to show up and did not have the courtesy to send a representative.
“I am very disappointed that both ministers did not feel the need to have an authoritative figure at two very special events. This is their people; it is our brothers and sisters that have been killed on the road. The families of these people are still hurting.” (MK)
