It will be?Queen’s College versus the Barbados Community College in the girls’ final of the Super Centre Inter Schools Volleyball League after they won two exciting semi-final games at the BCC Gym Tuesday.
BCC hosted and defeated Combermere, 25-11, 28-26, with Elizabeth Trotman pounding the opponents’ court.
Supportive play from Michaela Cossey, Danika Headley and Xenia Lawrence also denied Combermere, whose key duo Kayla Richard and Tiffani Smith did not step up their game.
Queen’s College then had to fight from a set down to halt Christ Church Foundation, 21-25, 25-15, 15-5, after Foundation had made the jump on their opponents in the first set.
However, some superb offence by junior national basketballer Ashlee Daniel, along with Gabriella Mitchell, Janina Mayers and Ashley Roberts carried QC to the final.
QC had stunned BCC in the earlier qualification rounds. Unfortunately, the fans will have to wait until next term since that is when the final will be staged due to the unavailability of an indoor facility. (KB)
