DEAR CHRISTINE: Looking to start dating again

Dear Christine,
I AM a 53-year-old professional who lost my wife five years ago. During those years I mourned for this woman who was my life partner for 30 years.
We lived a wonderful life and she gave me two beautiful children, both of whom are now married. In fact, I am the proud grandfather of an adorable three-year-old daughter.
My children still live abroad, but I recently returned to Barbados after 35 years. I’ve made the decision to resettle here.
I am beginning to come around to the thought of dating again, with the intention of remarrying. Through this column I am hoping to meet persons between the ages of 45 and 53 who have similar interests to mine.
I love golf, cricket, listening to music – particularly gospel, jazz and classical music; enjoy travelling, taking long walks, going to the beach and eating out. I just absolutely enjoy food from different parts of the world – even though I also love home-cooking.
I take my religion seriously and have my own business. I am willing to date persons who have never been married and have no children, or those who are widowed but hope to remarry. It does not matter if the latter have children. I do not wish for a relationship that can prove to be complicated.
I ask that interested persons send letters or emails to you with some personal information, such as I have mentioned here about myself.
I promise to respond as long as I find the responses favourable.
Thank you, Christine, and keep up the good work.

– CHARLES

Dear Charles,
Like you, I also hope you’ll get lots of responses and that you’ll find that special someone.
I will pass on all information as requested.
– CHRISTINE
