Sagicor UWI have completed a clean sweep of local cricket’s three major titles.
They captured the Sagicor General T20 title for the time time at Kensington Oval on Sunday night to add to their Sagicor General (50-over) Cup and a fourth straight LIME Elite Division league crown.
UWI were indebted to an unbroken fourth-wicket stand of 96 between Man Of The Match Jonathan Carter and Guyanese Steve Jacobs on the way to earning an impressive seven-wicket victory over ICBL Empire.
Set 148 to win after restricting Empire to 147 for six off 20 overs, UWI won with seven balls to spare.
