I CAHN TELL YOU dat strange or weird things doan happen all through the year because they do but all through my life pon this earth, I have always noticed dat some o’ the strangest and weirdest things like duh does wait ’til December tuh happen. Why? I doan know.
Now I aint talking ’bout the weird things dat does happen up in the States because as much as some people might see out there as the land of opportunity, tuh me, it is a place where all sorts o’ weird or strange things does happen all year long and it getting suh bad, dat it has now become a part o’ dem lifestyle. No boh, dem people out there strange as France, hear?
Now when a young man could got he house stock off wid all sorts o’ ammunition and battle gear fuh years; when people would know ’bout it and yet not one soul doan say word one but would wait ’til one day when he finally freak out and go and kill off a bundle o’ innocent people dat he aint know one thing ’bout, and then kill heself, fuh the coward dat he is, something got tuh be wrong.
Now if duh aint dead, duh does play duh foolish like dah one who kill all o’ dem poor people in the cinema earlier up in the year and then play he acting like he mad when he appear in court. I aint talking ’bout out there boh, dem people out there got something wrong wid duh heads.
But things like duh does wait ’til December tuh happen ’bout this place. Only the other day ya was hearing the announcement ovah and ovah again pon the radio ’bout a li’l three- or four-year-old child dat somebody find walking ’long Brighton road.
The announcement was coming from the police at Black Rock Police Station. I aint hear wha’ come outta dat or how it turned out but dat is something else, hear?
The other day a young man – the papers say he was 20 years old – went missing and when duh finally find he, duh find he dead. From what I read in the papers, it look like the young man was dead fuh a li’l while and the heat aint help neither. It also look like the boy was a UWI student.
Now as if dat aint bad enough, a couple days ago, another UWI student, 21 years old, was on her way home tuh Trinidad fuh Christmas when all of a sudden she callapse, get taken tuh the hospital and just so she dead. Well, if dem things aint weird and strange, I aint know what is.
The other day a young dad li’l baby, months old get lef’ in the back seat o’ the car. I aint know wha’ happen, but when he catch heself, the baby was dead.
My Lord, I would hate tuh be in dat poor man shoes today. The thing is, I know the fellow real good and know dat he is one o’ dem doting fathers, so you know dat he brek up. He gine need a whole lot o’ counseling tuh deal wid dat guilt. Poor fella!
Evah single day ya does see one or two accidents. Look, ya does be driving gine ’long ’bout ya business cool cool and all of a sudden, ya does come tuh a standstill. The traffic does be back up fuh what does seem like miles up the road and look, when ya finally get tuh see wha’ it is dat really causing the backup, another li’l foolish accident.
It look like people cahn wait, evabody rushing like duh gine mad as France; I aint know fuh wha’. But when duh get in the accident and call the police, the police does ask if anybody get hurt and if you answer no, dem does take a year and a day tuh get there just tuh tell you tuh pull oneside so the traffic could pass and guh ’long.
Talking ’bout strange things happening: fuh all the years ya couldn’t get a peep outta Prime Minister Freundel Stuart. Now all of a sudden, he getting in people face telling dem ’bout how the people vote dem in fuh five years and dem stopping there fuh five years; nuhbody aint forcing dem tuh call nuh elections.
You go, boy, ya right! As the old people would tell ya, ya gotta get some kinda gumption. You is the main man right now.
