BARBADOS HAS LOST one of its leading businessmen.
Richard Stoute, owner of Stoutes Car Rental and Esso Kirtons Star Mart, both at Kirtons, St Philip, passed away in a Miami Hospital last Thursday morning. He was 65.
Stoute’s son David, who is a company director, said his dad died while undergoing surgery.
David did not divulge too many details, but said everybody was “upset” about his dad’s passing, and that they were all working through the difficult period. He said his father had a “huge impact” on everybody.
Station manager David Chandler said the death of his boss has “seriously” affected the 80 or so staff between the two companies. There is a pastor on the payroll and he was able to help staffers deal with the sudden loss.  (YB)
