IT WAS A SAD NIGHT in the village as the villagers bonded. Word had spread that Ms Belly received the dreaded news that she was unable to use The Garrison because the evil king turned down her application.
Over at the palace, the other unhealthy rulers rejoiced because they repeatedly imposed their disparaging will on the villagers. But alas! Ms Belly would have none of that. She informed the villagers that if they could not exercise at popular places like The Garrison or did not have gym fees, there were alternatives.
Suddenly, she said with a sweet twinkle in her eye, “I am truly captivated by Mr Belly who is operating at turbo speed since he lost his belly.”
“Turbo! I want turbo,” shouted Junior Belly as his laughter pierced the air.
Ms Belly knew that the villagers were trying to maintain flat bellies. But little did they know that combining silent doctors with love would fill them with pure motivation and dedication. Again, her emphatic love for Mr Belly caused her to offer the villagers healthy advice.
She spoke about the power in teas and recommended Barbadian silent doctors nettle, soursop, grapefruit, tamarind and cayenne pepper teas, and advised those unable to get to The Garrison or the gymnasium to walk in their villages.
Not having gym fees, she told them, meant doing simple exercises at home – including the bicycle, crunches, plank on elbow and toes, and side twist.
Holistic foods were to replace any unholistic foods even during the festive season. Reading Matthew 17:20 would unleash conscious vibrations to nurture positive self-esteem. There were also required to think positive thoughts and to strive for perfection.
Meanwhile, Ms Belly continued to serve coconut water combined with unsweetened Bajan homemade mauby and stir-fried fish with vegetables. She also recommended a variety of salads, fresh Bajan fruit, natural unsweetened juices, spiced linseed and oat punches. Prayer was also essential as the villagers became frenzied.
Time passed and one night as the king slept, 12 beautiful fairies and a giant appeared and informed the king that because of his unkind, hypocritical behaviour he and the other royal leaders would be transformed into tiny brown mice.
On awakening, the king was squeaking and could not go near silent doctors. To this day the king, now a mouse, is seen scurrying around The Garrison with a huge belly. He still weeps bitterly because of his betrayal. As for the Belly family, in this final episode, they returned to the enchanted forest near Ilaro Court and lived forever in perfect happiness.
