UWI Blackbirds, propelled by a whirlwind 88 from Chadwick Walton, advanced to the final of the UWI C.O. Williams Inter-Parish Twenty20 cricket competition with a 13-run win under the Duckworth Lewis method over St James Settlers in their semi-final match on Friday night.
Opener Walton lashed five sixes and as many fours off 51 balls to lead UWI’s chase of 155 at the 3Ws Oval.
The hosts were 141 for four in 17.2 overs when rain ended the match and were comfortably ahead of the par score.
Captain Kyle Corbin chipped in with 37 off 29 balls in a support role to Walton during a second wicket partnership of 81.
