School agony

AS PRINCIPALS AND teachers continue to agonize over the implications of the transfers to and from The Alexandra School, there is still no word from Minister of Education Ronald Jones and his most senior officers.
Calls to Jones and Deputy Chief Education Officer (Schools) Karen Best were not returned yesterday, while on two occasions the MIDWEEK NATION was told that Chief Education Officer Laurie King was “not available”.
Up to last night embattled Alexandra principal Jeff Broomes told the MIDWEEK NATION he had not received “any letter from anybody”. However, most of The Alexandra School’s teachers earmarked for transfer have received their letters.
The transfers are not sitting well with some members of the Barbados Association of Principals of Public Secondary Schools (BAPPS).
