Hunte going

JULIAN HUNTE is about to pull stumps on his tenure as West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) president.
Less than a week after the long-standing administrator described 2012 as a watershed year in West Indies cricket, it has emerged that Hunte, the regional governing body’s head since 2007, will not seek re-election when the WICB holds its annual general meeting in March.
SUNSPORT investigations have revealed that the 72-year-old St Lucian, who has held various positions on the WICB dating back to the 1980s, has quietly informed some directors he is not interested in serving a fourth successive term in office.
While efforts to reach Hunte yesterday proved futile, well placed sources said he could make a formal announcement at a WICB directors meeting in St Lucia next weekend.
