ALISA ELLIS appeared in court on Monday, this time charged with concealing the birth of a child.
The 24-year-old woman who resides at Prospect, St James, was placed on $10 000 bail with a surety after she appeared before Magistrate Ian Weekes at the District “D” Magistrates’ Court.
However it is understood that the case was transferred to Holetown Magistrates’ Court for a later date.Ellis, who has two other children, gave birth to a baby on boxing day.
The child’s decomposed body was found by a relative in a drawer wrapped in a sheet with the umbilical cord around its neck.Ellis was represented by attorney-at-law Carolann Best. (MB)
