You think this is big?
It sure is, agreed Thelma Bowen yesterday when she reaped this 24-pound pumpkin and hoisted it on her shoulder with a smile.
Asked if it was the biggest she found in her many years working at Spring Hall Plantation in St Lucy, Bowen smiled even broader as she said no.
She had come across some 50 pounds and more, she added.
Yet yesterday’s find was good enough for an abundant supply of pumpkin soup, fritters, pies and other treats.
Pumpkin for all seasons
